Most business owners know the numbers exist in their accounting software but do not have time to open six reports to answer one question. With the HisabKitab MCP connector, you can ask Claude directly.
What is MCP
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use external tools securely. Instead of pasting reports into a chat, the assistant calls the tool and gets live data from your books.
What you can ask
HisabKitab's connector gives Claude read-only analytics over your accounting data. Examples of what is covered:
Sales, purchases, receipts and payments: "What were my sales last month by customer?"
Ledger reports: "Show the statement for this party with opening and closing balance."
Stock summary and item-wise profit: "Which five items made the most profit this quarter?"
Trading profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet: "What is my gross margin this year compared with last year?"
Companies: list your companies and switch between them by name or GSTIN.
Use cases
Owner's morning check: cash position, yesterday's sales and today's pending receipts in one question.
Collections: "Who owes me money for more than 60 days?" and then draft a polite reminder.
Buying decisions: "Which items are slow moving and hold the highest stock value?"
CA and review meetings: pull the balance sheet and profit and loss, then ask for a summary of what changed.
Multi-company owners: switch between companies in the same conversation.
How to set it up
Add the HisabKitab connector in Claude's connector settings and sign in with your HisabKitab account. Ask the HisabKitab team for the connector details for your account.
Safety notes
The tools are for reading and analysing data. Limit access to people who should see financial data, and always check important numbers against the report before acting on them.
